• Massage benefits all systems of the body.

    • Increase oxygenation into muscles and tissues
    • Reduces the pain and discomfort of arthritis
    • Physical rehabilitation, enhanced recovery from surgery or illness
    • Increase the range of motion of the joints
    • Decrease scar tissue due to an injury or surgery
    • The lymphatic system is stimulated and the body’s ability to cleanse is enhanced
    • Respiration is improved and the oxygen level in the body is increased
    • The nervous system is sedated bringing the body to a restful state
    • Circulation is improved which facilitates the flow of nutrients and the removal of toxins
    • Muscular system relaxes to relieve soreness, tension, stiffness and weakness

Animals benefit from massage in the same way humans do. In animal massage the entire animal is considered, not just a specific area of soreness. The number of massage sessions you choose will depend on the health of your pet and your short-term, or long-term goals. Massage goals for animals with specific behavioral or health problems can be determined accordingly. Animals that are rehabilitating from injuries will benefit from frequent massages. Older animals will benefit from 1 – 2 maintenance massages per month.

    Canine Athletes and Show Dogs

    • Increase elasticity of muscles
    • Improve muscle function
    • Increase range of motion, flexibility and stride length
    • Increase performance level at shows and events and reduce recovery time
    • Pre-event massage to warm and stimulate the muscles prior to events, e.g. herding, agility, and obedience
    • Post-event massage to check for injuries and help the body cool down and remove toxins after an activity

    Massage is not petting.

Massage is focused, intentional, and deliberate touch to balance, soothe, and energize. A trained practitioner’s hands become sensing devices that interact with the dog to improve the dog’s overall health and quality of life.

All massages are provided in the comfort of your home, office, or where your pet feels most comfortable. A session is generally 45 minutes to an hour. For pets that need extra pampering, longer sessions are available.

Some of the massage techniques I practice are TTouches, Swedish, Stroking, Kneading, Effleurage and, Petrissage.
